Head coaches & managers: who we cover
First-team decision makers: head coaches, managers and caretaker managers across the leagues we cover, kept current and reachable for members.
Head coaches decide who plays, and at smaller clubs they often decide who signs too. In leagues without a full recruitment department, the manager and the president are the entire transfer committee.
Coach turnover is the fastest-moving data in football: a mid-table club can change manager twice in a season, and every change resets the club's recruitment priorities. A coach contact is worth most in the first weeks of an appointment, when the squad audit is being written.
Our coach records sit alongside the club's other staff, so you can see whether a club is coach-led or director-led before you write a word.

Head coaches & managers: common questions
Is it appropriate to contact a head coach directly about a player?
It depends on the club. At clubs with a sporting director, route through the director. At clubs where the coach runs recruitment, a short, specific message about a position they publicly need is normal practice.
How often do coach records change?
Constantly. Coaching changes are one of the main reasons we re-verify records mid-season, and caretaker appointments are recorded as such.
Do you include assistant and academy coaches?
This hub covers first-team head coaches and managers. Assistant, goalkeeping, fitness and academy staff are held in the database but not published as their own public hub.
